Sean Kane - Head of Design
Sean is a designer who is passionate about improving the visual landscape of the world around us. He has an innate ability to make things look better by applying his ‘less is more’, design sensibility.
Throughout his career, Sean has developed specialist skills in branding, packaging and craft design. He loves the challenge of developing a unique identity for a business, organisation or product that will stand the test of time.
After an early career in pre-press print operation, Sean commenced work as a freelance graphic designer in 2012, pioneering the technique of blending type and illustration, which attracted clients including Reebok internationally and Saatchi and Saatchi Sydney.
During his time as a freelancer, Sean experimented with designing custom typefaces, including SK Modernist, which is available for download. His skill in this area led him to designing custom typefaces for international brands Universal Music and Roc Nation (Jay-Z’s record company) during his time at Adelaide design studio Frame, where he worked as the Senior Designer.
Sean is inspired by the great modernist designers Massimo Vignelli, Josef Muller-Brockmann and Paul Rand, and ultimately believes that there is “no excuse for ugliness”.
In his spare time:
On weekends you will find Sean indulging his love of whiskey as a bar-tender at American style blues bar Baddog and hanging out with his best mate, ex Australian champion stud Welsh Terrier Wade.
