Launching a parenting app to help dads, mums and carers parent with confidence.

The Brief

How do you make a government parenting app the go-to app for South Australian parents?

Being a parent is daunting. It’s overwhelming. It’s new territory—whether it’s your first child or your third. While the first five years of a child’s life is critical for their health, development, learning and wellbeing, it’s a major learning curve for parents and carers too.

From setting reminders for health checks and interactive growth tracking to finding trusted information and understanding developmental milestones, the Early Years SA mobile app is designed to empower South Australian parents with everything they need to know to provide the best care for their child, from birth all the way to the age of five.

The Office of the Early Years wanted to build awareness about the app amongst new and existing parents, and position the app as a trusted companion for parents journeying through their child’s early years. Moreover, the app needed to stand out from the wave of popular parenting apps already available at app stores.

The solution: help mums, dads and carers ‘parent’ like they know it.

Whether it was moving to solids or toilet training, tantrums or starting kindy, we developed fun messaging that captured the joyous woes of parenting at various stages of a child’s development journey.

Special attention was given to the campaign imagery to ensure it reflected the real world scenarios of parenting as shared by mums and dads on social media. This was complemented by a vibrant colour palette that brought a fresh, playful tone to the campaign.

The ‘Parent Like You Know It’ story was told through social videos and posts, digital and search ads, and outdoor and print media.
