Challenge

StudyAdelaide is a destination marketing and student support agency for the international education sector that promotes Adelaide as a centre of education excellence.

They also promote the benefits of employing international students and graduates to local employers through their Employer Portal.

Wanting to increase engagement with local employers and simplify the user experience on the Employer Portal website, Study Adelaide approached Fuller in 2020 to redesign and redevelop the Employer Portal website and brand.

In addition, Fuller was also asked to develop new content for the website, including a suite of visual and written employer case studies.

Strategy

To begin, a website Discovery Workshop was held to gain a better understanding of the Employer Portal’s audience and their goals, as well the business goals for the website.

Based on this information, the user journey was mapped, which informed the content requirement, Information Architecture (IA) of the website and wireframes. The next stage was design and content development.

The look and feel of the new Employer Portal website was brought in-line with the StudyAdelaide brand for greater consistency and to appeal to a business audience. In doing so, StudyAdelaide’s secondary colour palette was drawn-upon to provide the Employer Portal its own identity within the suite.

The website copy was re-written to more clearly articulate the benefits of employing an international student or graduate and the process of hiring an international student or graduate, and incorporated SEO best practices.

Fuller also produced a series of seven video and written case studies to feature on the website. The case studies featured local employers alongside the international students and graduates they had hired.

Finally, the website development was based on wireframes, using October CMS.

Results

A truly integrated project, the redesign and development of the Employer Portal has resulted in an improved user experience for all visitors to the website.

Together, the new website structure, clear messaging and content reinforces the Employer Portal offering, and drives users to achieve the website’s objective — to make contact with StudyAdelaide.
